Welcome to The Mind of an April Fool.
I am Kristen- a teacher, math coach, and yes…an April Fool! I take pride in being an April Fool. If you met me, you would see that my birthday totally fits my personality. As for my mind…let’s just say it’s a carnival. As I tell my teachers, “there’s a lot going on up there.” Hence the title.
I’ve started this endeavor of my first blog with so much enthusiasm. I have so many ideas to share. The main reason is that I am now an elementary math coach. After 17 years as a middle school math teacher, I’m branching out.
Six months into the coaching job, I found that I have all kinds of observations, stories, successes, and concerns. However, I didn’t have an outlet. A colleague/mentor/friend of mine suggested (bluntly asked) “So, Kristen, when are you going to start a blog?” I had no idea that I was blog-worthy.
So … here we go. We are going to do this. I’m hoping to fill my pages with stories from inside the classroom, questions about teaching/mentoring/coaching, but also maintain my sense of humor with all the funny math that is seen around the world. I’m eager to join the Math Twitter BlogoSphere (#MTBoS). Check out my RECENT POSTS and feel free to email me your thoughts. Let’s have a conversation.
